Parkinsons Recovery –  founded in 2004 by Robert Rodgers, PhD, is dedicated to document natural options that offer the opportunity for persons diagnosed with Parkinsons disease to celebrate relief of their symptoms.

Sound Healing: Boost Your Energy Every Day with Sound

One of the least accessed therapies that offer an instant boost to energy and overall well being is sound. No one knows this better than Judith who  experiences symptoms of Parkinson’s. She knows about the effect of sound on healing because she is an opera singer!

Here is a simple exercise that works wonders. Do it at least once every day.
Judith demonstrated this at the Parkinsons Recovery Summit in Vancouver.

Jump Start to Recovery Class Five April 2018

Were Your Goals for the Course Met?

If yes – Hooray!

If not yet – What else needs to happen during our last class for your goals to be met?

Looking for continuing support as you journey down the road to recovery now that the course is about to conclude? Want to know about the new and upcoming therapies when they are invented?

Sign up for a Parkinsons Recovery Membership (It is only $10 a month).

My realization after a decade of research focused on Parkinson’s …

There are many methods to suppress symptoms, but none persist over the long run.

The secret to long term success is to monitor your degree of excitation moment to moment. When anxiety, worry and stress are brought under control in the moment, symptoms will dissolve like an ice cream cone in the summer time.

When you discover ways to sooth your nervous system, bring back “on line” your parasympathetic nervous system and calm down your sympathetic nervous system as you push it to the back seat, your body is finally in a position to heal. In other words, the secret to recovery lies with your awareness of your body moment to moment.

Healing from the inside out is really not complicated.  It is only a matter of self-awareness and taking charge over your own recovery rather than letting others dictate what will “fix” you.

Medicine of the Future

I predict prescription medicines and surgeries  play a minor role. Rather, doctors will be practicing medicine using light and sound therapies. Be open to experimenting with these new and emerging therapies.

What is the Big Deal about Toxins?

Answer: It is the chief reason why many people do not succeed in reversing their symptoms

Some stories to hammer my point:

  • Installation of new $10,000 luxury carpet
  • Use of toxic hair dye for 20 years
  • Mold in the home as a cause of symptoms
  • Short circuiting in bedroom electrical wiring
  • Bed positioned above metal piping or near an electrical control panel
  • Purchase of hybrid car
  • Use of toothpaste (even if “natural”)
  • Mercury contamination in brown rice
  • Toxins in drinking water
  • Natural ingredients in packaged food (MSG)
  • Genetically modified food
  • Farm raised fish

Homework Assignment

Get serious about eliminating exposure to toxins. Take a few minutes every day to conduct a survey of toxins in your household and toxic substances you put on or in your body. Throw out anything that is not totally and completely natural.

Check your:

  • Laundry detergent
  • Soaps
  • Cleaning agents
  • Shampoos
  • All unused toxic products stored away in cabinets
  • !

Once you find the toxins – get rid of them!

What is Really Wrong with Me?

Everyone wants to know what is causing the symptoms they experience. I do! Clearly, there are primary factors that are at play that need to be acknowledged and healed.

Here is what most people do not realize:::

There are typically a surprising number of issues that the body is dealing with every moment of our existence. A myriad of issues are usually at place involving heavy metals, infections, viruses, parasites, lack of sleep – you name it.

The Bottom Line:

The body usually deals with a surprisingly large number of problems which change from year to year.

The Answer:

Adopt a healthy lifestyle so your body has all the support it needs to heal.

  • Eat live food
  • Breathe
  • Drink lots of water
  • Exercise
  • Embrace your soul’s longing
  • Have fun
  • Laugh a lot
  • Love yourself

Release Stress Instantly

  1. Drink a small glass of water.
  2. Rinse your face with cold water or place your hands in a bowl of icy cold water.
  3. Shake your entire body for 30 seconds. (Lecture 56)
  4. For seven breaths – Breathe in to the count of 4 – hold for a count of four, then breathe out to the count of 6. (Lecture 61 on Breath work)
  5. Unwind tight or restricted tissues and muscles (Lecture 57)

Do not make a big deal of doing this. Just do it when you feel anxious and stressed. The only reason it will not help is if you do not do it.

hat is the bottom line to recovery?

What is the secret to making it happen?

Most people hold near and dear to their heart the beliefs that recovery has to  …

  • Take years to unfold
  • Requires medications and supplements
  • Happens for only a select few
  • Involves expensive therapies
  • Happens only when you find the right therapist, health care practitioner or doctor who has the “secret” answer to recovery
  • Calls for outside interventions of one form or another

I too once believed all of this was true, but not now. I hold a much different belief that recovery is possible for

  • Anyone
  • Anywhere
  • Anytime

Anytime Means Now
Anytime means you notice improvements in how are feeling every day

Why do I embrace this seemingly outrageous belief?

Many people who experience symptoms of Parkinson’s have told me about unexpected blocks of time (a few minutes, hours, days) when their symptoms disappeared completely.

Further, such reports surprisingly involve situations which cannot be explained by taking (or not taking) medications or supplements or turning on or off a DBS battery connection

Is this a familiar circumstance for you? Have you celebrated the quieting of symptoms unexpectedly?

If it has ever happened once for you, why I ask you cannot this happen for you all the time?

What usually happens in such situations?

Our own thoughts are our own undoing. The “thinking” process usually goes something like:

  • Wow – I feel great. I feel normal. Don’t know why but who cares?
  • Wait – this is not supposed to happen.
  • I have Parkinson’s disease. I am supposed to get worse, not better.
  • It feels a bit strange to feel so good.
  • I do not deserve to feel so damn good.

When any minor evidence of a symptom resurfaces – the thought is: Oh right. There it is again. I know I will never be rid of this. I might as well get used to it.

  • Fear sizzles throughout the cells of the body

Almost all success stories involve people who have found ways to acknowledge when …

  • Fear rears its ugly head
  • Anxiety soars
  • Stress sizzles
  • Worries rattle over and over in our mind

And

Once recognized, any and all unwanted feelings are quieted and calmed, allowing the physical body to return to a state of balance and harmony.

The answer lies entirely within your ability to recognize and release stress and anxiety in the moment.  In other words, you can make it happen for yourself now. This put you…

In full control over your recovery

What are the triggers in your life? What sets you off? Is it certain:

  • Smells?
  • People?
  • Strangers who look like certain people?
  • Noises?
  • Colors?
  • Shapes?
  • Words other people use?
  • Memories?
  • Touching of one type or another?
  • Invasive actions by others?
  • People who want to control you?
  • Thoughts about the future?
  • Frets about the past?

You may never intellectually understand why any of the above “sets you off” and inflames fear and/or anxiety. It just always does!

I believe the answer is not to try and sort through the reasons why (something like the smell of a certain perfume sets you off or …) but to recognize the moment you get upset and immediately …

Change the Channel

When you are watching a movie that is upsetting you – what do you do?

  1. You immediately stop watching the bad movie.
  2. Then you change the channel to something that is pleasing to your soul.

Dissolve the stress in the moment. When stress is dissolved, symptoms are transformed like an ice cream cone melting in the hot summer sun.

Set the intention to make it so with each and every moment of your life from henceforth.

This is why I am sending you a mindfulness challenge each and every week for an entire year. Research soundly shows that mindfulness has a direct impact on reducing symptoms. It is a clever way to switch the channel of negative thinking which stops the progress of recovery in its tracks.

The best gift to yourself of becoming aware of your feelings each and every moment and responding to them in the moment is that the therapy is entirely free!

Jump Start to Recovery Class Four April 2018

 Important Announcement

The time for next week’s class – our fifth and final celebration of recovery – will kick off three hours later – at 3:00 pm pacific time – instead of our usual class time of 12:00 noon pacific time.

Why? 12:00 noon the last Monday of each month is the time for the Parkinsons Recovery member support group gathering (as many of you already know who are members). Since next Monday is the last Monday of the month – it is the regularly scheduled time for the support group.

Week Four Homework

Do one of the methods (you have not yet tried) for releasing trauma that is covered in Section Seven of the Online Jump Start to Recovery Course.

You can employ a therapist to “hold” you during the release or simple select a method you can do yourself – one that does not require the assistance of a health care practitioner.

Summary and Overview Trauma

Most people dismiss the impact of past traumas they have experienced. I certainly have.

Many people are not aware of traumas they have experienced that continue to affect them today (e.g.: birth traumas, trauma in embryo, etc.)

Oh. OK so what you say. Everyone in life has problems. I am no different.

I got through it all. Most people do.

I am OK now.

I am successful.

Why do I want to re-visit unpleasant experiences? I spent my entire life working on forgetting them – putting them to the side.

Acknowledging my past traumas will just make the problem worse, won’t it?

Let’s get onto with it. The past is done.

There is a “tiny” problem with refusing to acknowledge past traumas. Trauma has a huge impact on our physical body and in particular the physiological configuration of our brain.

The impact of trauma is not just emotional. It has profound physical impacts.

Trauma shrinks the volume and functionality of organs located in the brain: the amygdala, hippocampus and ventromedial pre-frontal cortex.

Trauma pumps a continuous, uninterrupted infusion of cortisol.

What happens when for example the hippocampus shrinks and loses functionality?

The hippocampus helps us distinguish past and present memories. When the ability to distinguish past and present memories is handicapped, we are “set off” and “triggered” when confronted with situations that only remotely resemble past traumas.

In other words:

The most unusual circumstances and incidents set us off into a tail spin of anxiety, fear and stress.

Trauma sets the gears in continuous motion of the sympathetic nervous system – the flight – fight energy. We are consistently on guard and on alert. You never know when a wild bear may confront you!

Most people want to know how to fix the problem now – and I mean today. They want evidence and confirmation that a specific therapy will make them well. The urgency of the sympathetic nervous system never stops grinding. This sets the nervous system on fire.

Many traumas do not have clear labels. Our memory of them is usually distorted for better or worse.

Or, they might have occurred at such an early age that there are no words that can be used to describe what happened to us.

Traumas can be abuse that is:

  • Mental
  • Physical
  • Emotional
  • All of the above

How do you release traumas that you cannot even begin to understand on a mental level?

Answer:

Releases – whatever form they take – are not on a mental level. They happen on a much deeper level – a place of no words. You might describe the place of release as the energetic body – and it is that, but more than that.

It is the place of setting clear intentions.

Use your intention to let go of any and all traumas you have experienced in your life.

Let go and release of any and all:

  • Anger
  • Shame
  • Guilt
  • Sorrow
  • Regret
  • Pain
  • Suffering

You have unconsciously been holding onto for whatever reason. Keeping all of this (and more) close to your chest drains your energy and stifles your life force.

I discuss in a series of lectures on the Jump Start Online Course materials various methods that can be accessed to release traumas (whether physical, mental or emotional) that have been stuck to your cells with energetic super glue.

Homework for Week Three

Download my book “Language of Recovery.” You will find the download in Lecture 46 of the online Jump Start to Recovery course.

There is a suggested activity that I introduce in the beginning of the book.

Do it before reading further!

Big Picture Idea for the Class Today

The body is a complex miracle. There are no simple explanations for imbalances that exist.

The good news is that your body knows how to address imbalances when it has the support it needs.

When the authentic process of healing used by the body is not understood, people hold the belief that the power to heal resides outside of them.  Extrinsic methods of healing are pursued to fix a “broken” body.

Example of: The Solution is “Out There” not within

Monitor your thoughts about whatever choices you make concerning your recovery plan and program.

Are you thinking…

“Well – I have doubts about whether doing “x” will do any good – but I will try it anyway. I have to do something.”

Now, “x” could be anything – even taking this course! If you hold doubts about the choices you make – you are not going to see the results you seek.

Whatever decisions you make …

  • Whether it is to look at your eyes to detect causes
  • Or feel the sore spots in your feet
  • Or track the meridians that lead to problematic teeth
  • Or pursue a therapy to release trauma like energy healing or TRE or …

I say to you – embrace them wholeheartedly. You chose a course of action because your intuition told you to walk down that path. Trust your intuition.

If you think and know in your heart, mind and soul that you are taking the right action, your “right” thinking will have a profound impact on your the success of whatever choices you make.

The system of medicine as we know it today is a logical development out of the fallacy that healing power resides in extrinsic sources. This belief translates into making appointments with health care professionals to fix the problem.

There is nothing wrong with this strategy. We have all pursued it. We can sometimes get rewarded with a welcome, though temporary relief from symptoms. Unfortunately, relief is temporary.

True healing that lasts over the long run. Its potential resides within each of us.

Beliefs and Thoughts as Primary Causes

Possibilities of beliefs that are not in your best and highest good which can be  connected to, for example, dizziness.

“I never have enough time.”

“I carry the weight of others on my shoulders”

This shifts the energy toward the top of the body from the feet.

“Since others cannot bear the burden of their guilt, suffering and pain, I will take it on for them.”

You are carrying a monkey on your back!

About the Power of Thoughts

Until you clean up thoughts that are not in your best and highest good, toxins will stick to your tissues like glue.

Excellent resource that gives overview of the power of thoughts and muscle testing:

Power vs Force by David Hawkins

I retrieved a free download of his book from my library.

Truth and Integrity

I used to believe that everything I thought, heard and read was true.

Today I believe that most everything I thought, hear and read is probably far from the truth.

Why hold thoughts so closely to our chest that we believe are so correct and true in every respect?

Why embrace thoughts that are not in our best and highest good?

Why spend so much energy sabotaging ourselves with negative thinking?

I asked this last week. Here is the same question once again

What are you getting out of being sick?

What are the benefits?

 Week Two’s Topic

Find the Cause of Your Symptoms

Week Two Homework

Muscle Testing

Watch Lecture 27 in the online course. The lecture resource section has a PDF download on muscle testing which you can download and read). Select a muscle testing method that works for you and begin using it this week.

Explore a Second Method to Identify Causes

Use a second method to Identify the causes  of your symptoms  (choose from another of the methods covered in Section 5 of the online course you have not yet explored – could be muscle testing!).

What Will Fix Me?

Everyone wants to know the amino acid or medicine or supplement that will fix their symptoms. Evidence of a “fix” you need is everywhere. Many people on my radio show espouse one therapy or another. For example, Just take …

  • Tryptophan – Symptoms will reverse
  • 5HTP – Symptoms will reverse
  • Serotonin – Symptoms will reverse
  • NAS – Symptoms will reverse
  • Melatonin – Symptoms will reverse

I do not know about you – but I am exhausted! What is up doc anyway?

There are so Many Potential Causal Factors. Let’s consider a few

Gold Amalgams

Huge problem…as many as 42 composites of gold are used. If only one metal is used – it is better. Metal has an electrical charge … Need I say more?

Digestive

Possible primary causes are:

  1. The terrain of the digestive system
  2. A long standing appendicitis infection or candida
  3. The cause of most neurological challenges is rooted in the gut. If you focus your energies anywhere – focus them on bringing your digestive system “back on line.” Probiotics are particularly beneficial in this regard.

How can this happen? The bacteria flow up through the vagus nerve.

Recent research discovery: There exist heretofore unobserved pathways throughout the body through which viruses, bacteria and even cancer cells are transported.

Chemical Sensitivities

Likely Cause: Spin Inversion

Energy field is running backwards

Potential Causes of Parkinson’s Symptoms

  • Heavy Metals like Mercury
  • Toxins
  • Infections
  • Malfunction of the Parathyroid

The Cause of Tremors is Often Heavy Metals

What happens when the electrical charge is transmitted through the neural pathways cluttered up with deposits of heavy metals like mercury?

If we were to slow down the transmission (and there are millions every second) and take a picture (which is not possible) we would see something like a fireworks display.

The charge blasts into the heavy metal deposit and is dispersed in all directions

The charge sometimes bounces back.

Isn’t it now obvious why tremors would result? The cause here is not a dopamine deficiency – it is heavy metal deposits.

Why don’t the tremors resolve when the heavy metals are cleared?

Again, think logically here. The electrical charge has been continuously blasting away at the he sensitive myelin sheath – that sensitive fatty covering which insulates the neurons. Over time, it thins and short circuits.

A neural pathway with myelin sheaths  thin over time and short circuits the electrical charge. The electrical impulse scatters – causing tremors.

Malfunction of the Parathyroid

Calcium deposits can wind up in the brain. Muscles get insufficient blood supply because of the build-up of calcium deposits. Tremors result.

Molecular size of medicines can be too large to be absorbed by the digestive system of many people. Taking medicines causes toxic overload problems for some people. They also cause nutrient depletions.

If weakness and mobility an issue – most likely cause is a liver issue

If muscles are tight and constricted – most likely cause is a gall bladder problem.

Trapped Emotions Underpin Physical Problems

Constipation

Likely Cause: Clinging onto emotions that need to be released.

Liver is Diseased or Overloaded with Toxins
Likely  Cause: Suppression of emotions. Need to “talk them out.”

Lyme Disease
Likely Cause: Early Unresolved Trauma

Cause of Stress

Disharmony between the heart and the head
